Hannah Borger Overbeck (1870–1931) was one of four sisters who founded Overbeck Pottery in 1911 in Cambridge City, Indiana. Her watercolor sketches, capturing the flora of her Indiana surroundings, are botanical treasures from the early 20th century.
I had the privilege of working with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art to create letterpress prints based on her sketches. Translating her delicate watercolors into blockprints was a challenge, but I aimed to preserve their clarity and richness through fine, nuanced color layers.
