Peace Lanterns

The Arts & Crafts Press

LIMITED NUMBER LEFT!

"Peace Lanterns" is based on Yoshiko's sketch of the lantern-floating ceremony in Seattle, WA. Held every year on August 6th (the day the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima in 1945), the event advocates peace and opposes war and violence. Yoshiko hand-carved the keyblock and created 13 more polymer relief blocks to print this night-time scene. Paper: 100% cotton Rives BFK paper, mold-made in France. Fifty copies (numbered from 1 through 50) have been donated to “From Hiroshima to Hope” event organizers to raise funds for this annual event.

Our block print  frames are made by Dard Hunter Studios in Ohio using quarter-sawn white oak. Mortise-and-tenon edges, Craftsman Oak finish, Black Shadow Mat.

Limited edition of 180 prints.
